1- Purpose :-


The purpose of procedure is to determine the method of hydrostatic pipeline testing.





2- Scope :-



The hydrostatic test procedure describes equipment , personnel and method required to carryout the following activities for EL-Basant Gas Flow lines.

- Cleaning And Gauging Procedure .

- Filling procedure.

- Pressurizing procedure.

- Bulck Dewatering Procedure.

- Safety procedure.



3- Applied codes and standards :-



- Client Spsification

- ASME (B-31.8 ) Pipeline Transportation System For GAS .

- API 5L specification for pipeline

- Petrojet,s Procedures







1- Cleaning and gauging procedure :-



4-1 The Cleaning and gauging of the pipe lines shall be according to contract specifications and shall be started after the following :-

- All welds have been non destructively tested and accepted.

- All wrapping and insulation has been completed.

- Pipeline shall be cleaned as one section .

- Temporary pig trap shall be installed at both end of cleaning section .

- Compressed air at maximum pressure (10) bar shall be used to run cleaning pigs.

- Client Rep. shall witnessed during the Cleaning and gauging operation.

- The Cleaning and gauging certificates shall be signed by Petrojet test engineer and client Rep.as in appendix (2)& appendix (3)

5-3 Filling Procedure :-



- The pipline shall be filled with fresh water .

- The pipelines shall be tested as one section.

- All instrument used for testing shall have a valid certificate

- Test section shall be completely backfilled.

- Suitable back pressure shall be used an air compressor according to pipe line as built.

- Filling operation continue without filling pump shutdown for 24 Hr. by two shift crew until filling operation is completed.

- 10 M3 of water will be flushed before filling pig .

- Launching the filling pig and start filling.

- After completely water filling operation, filling pump shall be disconnected and test section shall be prepared for pressurizing operation.

5-4 Pressurizing Procedure :-



- Pressurizing operation will be start after temperature stabilization.

- Instruments will be installed at safe place and both ends of the test section, all instruments will have a valid calibration certificate.

- Pressure will be bleed down to static head pressure.

- Start pressurizing pump with suitable rate, maximum one bar/min, dead weight tester, and time shall be recorded every (50 PSI ) .

- Pressurizing will be continue up to 50% T.P and pressure shall be held for one hour and leak to be checked .

- pressurizing will be continue to 100% of test pressure.

- Pressurizing operation will be stopped and pressure shall be hold for ( 24 ) hours .

- During test period (24 Hr.), pressure ambient and pipe temperature at both ends of the test section .

- After completion of ( 24 Hr.) test period and all readings are satisfaction and accepted the pressure will be bleed to static head pressure .

- All testing charts, records and acceptance certificate will be signed by Client representatives and Petrojet test engineer. appendix (1)
